Today I miss Rome, which makes me miss Japan. Which then makes me a little sad. Thankfully I'll have a chance to make better memories with Japan like I did with Rome, hopefully sooner than later. ♥
I wanted to edit the video above like I did my other bokeh video, with pretty music, deduct the background noise, and my nervous held at the camera. iMovie wasn't working as I wanted, but glad it wasn't- this video is completely organic and shows you one of my favorite corners of Rome, The Bernini. Unlike the other video, it lacks anything serene about it. It's loud, lively, and electrifying. Unlike living in Southern California, as busy as it gets, there's something about the excitement of Rome that I can't exactly describe. Maybe I was in a food coma and my lack of perception is blinding, but I have yet to find a reason to not return to Rome. {Lensbaby Kit for the bokeh effect.}

Gus is a little gnome, who's had a few adventures the past year. Cesar, of The Dead Format is nice enough to let him see the world, one blogger at a time. Gus has been to Las Vegas, France, Norway, San Francisco, Spain, Amsterdam, and Greece. I'm really happy I had to take him to see Rome.
Here is Gus at the Spanish Steps.
This is picture heavy, click on the "read more" link if you're not reading from a direct link.
Gus at the Colosseum. He almost fell with the lost Gladiators below but luckily a concerned tour guide caught him by his tall hat.
He claims to know the director from the movie. Riiiiiiiiight, whatever you say, Gus.
In between crowds, he hung out wrapped in a tshirt in his favorite tote bag to be safe
Gus also went to the Trevi Fountain and made a wish. I think he wished for a Gnomette.
For being a gnome, Gus ate and drank a lot.
Gus had a blast and was a little nosy at times
Gus came home to Cesar in Orange County. You can read about his worldly adventures here. You can read Cesar's blog here.
If Google translated this correctly, in Italian it says, "The most delicious food ever." It's true. When I think of Rome, I think of the food. I had surgery in January and ever since, I've had to be careful with what I ate. When I have pizza or most carbs here at home in the U.S., it doesn't go well (tmi, but true). I was worried what I would eat in Rome, but not only was I able to have culinary delights, but I lost some weight with it, too. The food tasted different. It tasted fresh, not processed. If you ever have a chance to visit, the food is equally memorable as the historical architecture.
