I found a new website that you will either love or hate. Polyvore is an addicting site that lets you create outfits from what is already in your wardrobe. You can create different "sets" or outfits virtually. Its better and easier than looking at items separately and trying to determine if they would go together or not. There are clothes, shoes, and accessories from different web sites and stores that you can choose from and if you download this tool, you can even get things from web sites that are not listed to use in your sets by clicking on them, using the site's clipper
The items are listed in different categories based on type of clothing and brands and you can even choose a particular color to browse through to make it more convenient. If you like an item enough, you can even purchase it online from their web site. Create a profile, collect favorite sets that you like, and connect to different by adding them as contacts. There is inspiration for a different look everywhere you go on Polyvore. I have even used it as a wish list (hint, hint...)
Sometimes different clothing companies have contests to see who can create the best set using items from their store, and they give away prizes and the winner is featured. Its fun, makes online shopping wayyy easier, and you come up with outfits you would never think of trying. It has expanded my wardrobe and taken me out of ruts when I have no idea what to wear. This is not just for girls, either. A lot of guys use it, too. But considering the men I do know in my life, they pick up a shirt off the floor, smell it, and if it smells clean, it is wearable. Maybe Polyvore is not for those guys.
Like I mentioned, you will hate it or love Polyvore. Love because it gives you endless possibilities of what to wear, how to put everything together, and hate because it really is a dream closet if you clip items you want.
I love my Polyvore account. I totally recommend it, but be prepared to lose hours on it as I have.
