Lomography Scanning Masks

Scanning Mask 3

Out of all the hobbies I've picked up, photography is the most expensive. Whenever I pick up one of my cameras, the only thing I can think of are the prices adding up for the film, yikes!

I picked up the DigitaLIZA Scanning Mask on Lomography for 35mm and 120mm, hoping to ease the pain of my financial stress when it comes to film developing. It's about $18 per 120 film, multiply that by about 3 rolls a month, that makes about $648 a year. Holy moly! I'll be using these and get back to you on it. Cross your fingers and toes they work out!

one year birthday: the after party {closed}

Ok, so my last post was a little emotional but it's something I've been wanting to get off my mind, (and out of my blog drafts) for months. I hope none of you took it offensively- I just believe this community is worth much more than an uncredited photo and I get all Rosie Riveter about a subject.

I can't believe it's been one year. That's nuts. Here are my goals for 2010 Blogger style:

-New layout
-Outfit posts (yes)
- Less smaller giveaways and more bigger giveaways
-More personal (probably not but imagine the day that'll happen)
-I don't call myself a professional photographer but I'll be taking more photos indeed

One thing I didn't mention in my post is how grateful I am for this blog. This blog has been the motherboard to so many connections. My best friends are across the screen, and just like the Format once sang, the need to fit in is harder when living life from a screen, I believed it at one point. Now, I can't imagine my days not skyping my best friends across the world, using Twitter as a form of communication, and of course, blogging.

Blogging has helped me dig out a voice hidden, opened me up to wonderful people and here's to 2010!

Ok, now the giveaway part: It's a Diana Mini with 3 rolls of film to get you started. My original blog posts were all about Lomography and it's what brought me to begin blogging in the first place. Fitting.

If you donated to Haiti rescue funds, let me know how in the comments below (this is a blog of trust), and I'll enter your name twice. Not sure where to send money to? Here's a great list, thanks to twitter!

You may tweet it (with the Share button below), you may blog about it, but let me know if you did it in this post to keep track of your name. You are welcome to grab the blog button on the side, tell your friends. This is a celebration and all are invited to the party!

Giveaway ends Feb 1.

January is my BLOG birthday month :) I know, I'm a nerd for even bringing attention to it.
The Weekend

Do you remember these photos? They were my engagement photos taken with a Diana camera. I've tried enlarging them to 8 x 10, 11 x 14 but since the print is squared, it never came out right. So, why not record player frames?

//yes, i know they are crooked//

The format is perfect. We don't feel comfortable having photos of each other all over the place, but these are our favorite. I know a lot of couples do this, but we just think it's weird to see yourself displayed in your own home.
They look so little because my walls are a tall 20 feet. My dilemma is anything I add to the wall, no matter how big, looks like a thumbtack compared to the rest of it. I'm ordering more Diana photos to frame. I think this wall is adorable, and I love the idea for my Lomography pictures.

Besides hanging up pictures, we went to the book sale at a local library and found a first edition copy of Hersey's Hiroshima for $10. The value of the book is $1,250!! We are not going to sell it, just collect it along with the other first edition copies we have.

Hope you are having a great weekend ♥
