Never ever did I imagine blogging about laundry tips, but here we are.
I have a front loading HE washer and over the past few weeks, I noticed my white clothing getting this ugly yellow tint to them. Bleach is supposed to make white clothes BRIGHT, right? Nope, the chlorine in bleach is caustic to the white fabric, thinning out overtime, and staining to an either yellow or gray tone. Bleach could have it's benefits for cleaning, but not for laundry.
I found Mrs. Stewart's Bluing tint. A blue tint helps not only cancel out the yellow and gray stains already there, but brighten your whites. I followed the directions, poured it into my "bleach" dispenser and impatiently waited for my laundry (this is the life!)
You guys, it works. I was hesitant, but after washing white clothing that is normally stained yellow and has that "off" color, the tint took away all of that plus brightened my clothes, regardless of age of clothing. I loved it so much, not only have I made my own mixture available and ready but chlorine bleach won't ever see my laundry room again. I should clarify this is a tint, and not an alternative for laundry soap. I still had to use my regular soap.
I'm sure you other blue tints are great, but this is the most natural I found, without a scent, and with the best reviews. Just like any tint, wear your gloves and don't get messy when mixing it. Get it here!
