Craft Happy OC

I'm not much of a crafter but I'm a big supporter of community. I stopped by Craft Happy OC, a crafting event at The Makery located in Community (I've blogged about them here). I didn't participate in any of the events or get goodies, but I did meet up with Lisa, founder of The Makery and host of Craft Happy. She was excited to share what is building at The Makery. What used to be Nest, a retail shop in Community, turned into a craft workshop. There is nothing like this in the area, unless you drive out to LA or South County, and this is perfect for those crafters who want to network and build a blogging contact.

Community has pop up shops. I'm excited to see what else they carry throughout the summer. Click here for more details.

In the next few months, The Makery will be hosting events like this, devoted to the passionate maker. The event included a food truck, instant photo booth, a Tattly station and even I met Xenia, the social media contributor behind Craft Happy, Sharon from Academy of Handmade (a union for crafters!), and the owners of A Little Known Shop.

I would have loved to get out of my comfort zone and tried some crafting and meet new people but I suggest you do the same for the next event if you're in the area.
