Every once in awhile, I'll take a break from reading literature. Instead, I'll go for comics (or graphic novels for the naysayers out there), or just books that are fun to have at home.
Cat Versus Humanmay not be ground breaking literature, but it's one of the best things I've read all year. If you read Yasmine's blog, then you will love this book. It's a collection of her best posts in one book, that honestly, will never get old for me.
The Fortune Cookie Chronicles: Adventures in the World of Chinese Foodis another book I'm excited to read. Have you ever wondered the history of the food you're eating? After watching too many episodes of Food(ography), , I began questioning the history of the food I love, one of them being Chinese Food. The author, Jennifer Lee, was featured on the show and her book looked as good as the food they featured.
I've actually never watched the movie Ghost World, but I've read the book a few times. I let someone borrow this years ago and after moving a few times, I lost contact, along with the book. How can you not want Daniel Clowes on your bookshelf?
The Bust DIY Guide to Lifeis one of the most fun books I own. It's a cookbook, a reference book to style, sewing, home repair, and even finances. Just like their magazine, it can be read cover to cover more than once.
Organic Baby. No, no, I'm not pregnant, but if I'm going to be at all before I'm 40, I'd like to be prepared. This book was a gift from a friend and even though the information is mainly to prepare for a baby, i've used it as a reference for just Scott and I.
I recommend all of these, plus it's fun to just relax while still "reading".
