Royal Tenenbaum bought the house on Archer Avenue in the winter of his 35th year. Over the next decade, he and his wife had three children, and then they separated.
When I went to NYC in November last year, I took so many pictures of the house where the Royal Tenenbaums was filmed. It's my favorite movie, and wanted to capture every angle. I brought 3 different lenses, was there for about 20 minutes snapping away like a ridiculous tourist and Wes Anderson fangirl. After looking through all of them, my favorite photo is the most analog picture- the Polaroid. It captures exactly what the movie is- organic, has a sense of affluence, looks majestic, but still uncouthed. I feel like this is one thing on my "to do before i die" list crossed off.
