Teen Angsty

My absolute favorite books are angst ridden books. Yes, I've grown out of that stage of my life, but I will forever love The Catcher in the Rye and The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I recently picked up It's Kind of a Funny Story . I began reading last night and finished it today, it was such a great story.
If Holden was a bit more charming with heart, he would be Craig, the main character of the book. Reading books about anger, coming of age, sometimes makes anguished teens look hopeless, at least what I remember. This book is funny, light and gives a bit of humor to the most discussed topics for my teenage years- depression and anxiety. All is well with me now, but I really wish there would have a been a Ned Vizzini to speak out, even in a light hearted way, on the tribulations of such a futile disorder.

Have you read it and what did you think? There's a film adaptation is coming out next week, and it will be hard to beat such an endearing story.
