Nice to meet you, again

My name is Diana, former blogger.

I guess this is technically considered a blog but I like to think of it as my journal, like it once was years ago. I'm not sure what happened along the way but I lost the vision of what I wanted this space to be in the comparisons, sponsorships, and perfecting a lifestyle online that I completely forgot about myself.

When I wasn't blogging, I was a creative director in a tech start-up operation, but gave up the long stressful nights for more longer and more stressful nights to be a stay at home mom. No regrets!

This space celebrates motherhood, homemaking, and family. I don't have a niche- there's no DIY, rarely are there fashion posts but I write about what I know and that's pain and hope. I write about baby loss, the heartache and trauma that comes with it. It's about finding myself again in the everyday joys grief once robbed. For everything I've lost, I've gained something else.

There are stories to tell and I have a few to write.

When I don't write, I'm Miko's mom.

Thanks for following along. ♥

If you are here looking for this section, I'm so sorry. I hope the resources and words give you some light in a dark topic.

Film

I'm not a photographer, just to clarify. Film, whether it's 35mm to instant, toy cameras, and novelty lenses make me weak.

Homemaking

I never thought I'd love making a home so much. I'm sharing how I live my colorful life, all the pretty and messy parts of it.

F A Q

How Long Have you been blogging?

About 15 years, and it started with LiveJournal. I began blogging outside of a more professional platform in 2008.

WHy the name "our city Lights"?

When I branded my blog, Umbrella's City Lights was on repeat on my iPod (the bulky ugly thing that is probably now in a museum).  I also retired my dreams of living in a loud city for quiet suburban nights. I love my husband more than I hate the suburbs, thankfully.

Why all the pink?!

Why not? Life is short, go for the pink!
